With roots dating back to 1988, when Monolit cooperative (1988) was established and letter transformed into Kuat Holding Joint Stock Company (1992) one of the first private energy companies founded in the former USSR, KUAT Energy Group carries forward a legacy of entrepreneurship, resilience, and innovation. Inspired by that pioneering spirit, KUAT Energy was established in Singapore in 2022 to help shape the next chapter of global energy development.
The name “Kuat” is a word with a rich history and deep cultural significance, carrying similar meanings across diverse regions and languages—from Central Asia and Southeast Asia to the Middle East, and even parts of South America. For example, in the Guaraní language, spoken by indigenous communities across Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay, the word resonates with themes that have shaped the region’s cultural identity.
Over the years, we have grown from the Central Asia asset-based company to an international energy group with successful track record in exploration and development of challenging oil and gas fields, including offshore exploration drilling and oil production in Central and Southeast Asia. In the past 20 years the group successfully qualified as experienced oil and gas company to operate in the Middle East and Central Asia countries, East Africa, Myanmar and Thailand.
The Group’s management team has a long and distinguished track record of successfully developing oil and gas projects around the world. The senior members of the technical team have each over 25 years of experience with oil and gas projects both onshore and offshore, and including development of stranded gas fields, expertise in operating in difficult and remote areas which are geologically and operationally challenging, building oil and gas pipelines, oil and gas processing facilities.
Originally focused on upstream oil and gas production, we have built decades of expertise in exploration, development, and operations. Today, we are transforming into a vertically integrated natural gas and LNG enterprise, offering solutions that meet the world’s growing demand for reliable, cleaner, and more sustainable energy.
- Gas projects: utilisation of associated gas, gas processing, development of stranded gas resources to provide feedstock for its own midstream and downstream gas projects, production and transportation of LNG, introduction of LNG as fuel for transport.

To reflect the above shift from upstream, in 2025 Kuat Energy Group established in Kazakhstan its subsidiary Kuat Gas Processing Ltd.
